Beer Buddies is SIR San Mateo's beer group — a relaxed, social get-together at a different local brewery or taproom each month. There's no formal program: we gather, sample what the brewery does best, swap recommendations, and enjoy good company over good beer.

You don't need to know a thing about craft beer to fit right in — just curiosity and a thirst. Come to as many or as few meetings as you like; there's no commitment to make it every month.

What it costs & who can come

There's no group fee — since we meet at breweries and taprooms, you simply buy your own. Order a flight to sample several, or just settle in with a pint of whatever you fancy.

Guests are welcome — bring a friend or spouse (male or female). It's a great low-pressure way to introduce someone to the group.

How to join in

Everything runs on the group's email announcements — that's the key thing to know:

1. 1Make sure you're on the Beer Buddies email list so you receive each month's announcement with the date and brewery. (New to the group? Contact the group leader to be added — see the main Beer Buddies page.)
2. 2The announcement gives the location and any details. If a head-count or reservation is needed for a spot, it'll say so — just reply to let us know you're coming.
